The Diamond DA40 is a four seat single engined light aircraft powered by petrol and diesel engines. Built in Austria the aircraft have been particularly popular with flying schools and ATO's.
The aircraft first flew in 1997 and has a very low accident rate especially in stall and spin accidents. It has a high aspect ratio wing with low wing loading and benign flight characteristics.
