The Diamond DA42 is a four seat twin engined light aircraft powered by petrol and diesel engines. Built in Austria the aircraft have been particularly popular with flying schools and ATO's.
The aircraft was developed during the 1990's and recieved its type certificate in 2004 and has been in production ever since.
In 2004 the DA42 became the first diesel powered fixed wing aircraft to perform a non-stop crossing of the North Atlantic.
