Profiles and Logos

The Dassault Mercure was a short range narrow body jet aircraft built by Dassault Aviation in the 1970s, a total of 12 were built. The project was started in 1967 on the instigation of the French government as a rival to the Boeing 737 seating up to 150 passengers, being larger than the B737-100 and -200 then in production. On 4th April 1971 the prototype was rolled out and flew for the first time on the 28th May. Although the aircraft was marketed around the world, only the French operator Air Inter bought the aircraft and it started commercial service in October 1973. The aircraft was withdrawn from service on 29th April 1995.
