The Consolidated PBY Catalina is an American flying boat and amphibious aircraft produced between 1936 and 1945 and was the most widely used seaplane in World War II. The aircraft was used as an anti-submarine warfare, convoy escort, air-sea rescue, passenger and cargo aircraft, serving with the Brazilian Air Force until 1979. The aircraft still operates as a waterbomber in aerial firefighting.
