Answer:

All the posters are drawn using vector graphics.

What is a vector graphic?

There are two basic types of graphics formats, these are Bitmaps and Vectors, each have there advantages and disadvantages.

Bitmaps (also known as raster) are ideal for photographs as the images is made up of dots, each dot holds the colour information of that dot. The issue with this is that if you zoom into the picture it starts to get blocky - this is called pixilation. You can partially get around this by saving the file in high resolution, however you cannot increase the resolution of the initial image. Also the higher the resolution then the larger the file size. Digital cameras use bitmaps.

Vectors are mathematical images, each element is drawn using a mathematical formula so you can scale the image without loss of information. The main advantage is that the file size tends to be smaller for the same image but it is very difficult to make a photorealistic image in vector format.

Bitmap images come in .jpg .bmp .gif and vectors come in .ai .svg formats.

In conclusion bitmaps are ideal for photographs and vectors are ideal for diagrams, especially technical diagrams.
