Waco Aircraft Company

The Waco Aircraft Company (WACO) was formed in 1920 under the name Weaver Aircraft Company of Ohio and changed its name to Waco Aircraft Company in 1928.

The early aircraft were bi-planes who had a reputation of being reliable and robust.

During World War 2 the company produced a large number of military gliders for the RAF and US Army Air Forces especially the CG-4 troop carrier which was known as the Hadrian in British service. Over 13,903 CG-4 gliders were built.
