Profiles and Logos

The de Havilland DH88 Comet was developed specifically for the 1934 England to Australia MacRobertson Air Race. The Comet was designed by A. E. Hagg around specific requirements for the race and the aircraft was designed as a stressed-skin cantilever monoplane with innovations including enclosed cockpit, retractable undercarriage, landing flaps and variable-pitch propellers.

Three Comets were produced for the race G-ACSP Black Magic, G-ACSS Grosvenor House and G-ACSR.
