The Boeing Family
The Boeing family of jet airliners stretches from the initial Boeing 720 to the latest 777X.
Boeing 787 Dreamliner
Development of the 787, known as the 7E7 began in 2003 with the first flight in 2009 after a protracted development. The aircraft entered service in 2011.
Built mainly of composites the aircraft has a better cabin environment for the passengers with the cabin pressure being maintained at a maximum of 6000ft rather than the normal 8000ft maximum.
Powered either by the Rolls Royce Trent 1000 or the General Electric GEnx-1B engines each giving superior fuel burn to earlier generation engines due not least to being "bleedless" engines, bleed air is not drawn from the engines to power systems and being "electric" aeroplanes.
As with most modern airliners, the 787 is a fly-by-wire aircraft.
787-8
The smallest aircraft of the family with seating of between 242 and 359 passengers. The fuselage is 186ft 1in.
787-9
Lengthened from the -8 and seating between 209 and 406 passengers and a fuselage length of 206ft 1in.
787-10
17ft 11in longer than the -9 and seating between 330 and 440 passengers with a fuselage length of 224ft.

Our posters cover all three versions of the aircraft.
