Diamond Aircraft
Diamond is a manufacturer of light aircraft based in Austria with manufacturing in Ontario, Canada. The company originally produced gliders and motor gliders. The first light aircraft developed was the DV20 Katana (now known as the DA20 Katana) which was developed in 1993, an improved version was built in Canada.
The Diamond DA40 was developed from the DA20 with the prototype first flying in 1997. The aircraft is built in Austria and Canada. The aircraft is a four seat low ing single engine monoplane. Initially it was powered by the Textron Lycoming IO-360 MiA engine with the F (Fixed pitch propeller aircraft) having a O-360-A4M engine. The diesel versions of the aircraft are powered by the Thielert "Centrurian" engine.
A new venture in China is being set up to build the aircraft there.

DA40
This is the original model powered by the IO-360 petrol engine driving a fixed pirch propeller. There are a number of variants of this aircraft, the -180 was an upgraded aircraft with an engine giving 180hp,hence the name. The FP is an upgraded -180 - FP standing for Fixed Pitch. A version with a Constant Speed propeller was introduced, called the CS. The XL is an upgraded CS, with the XLS an upgraded XL. Initial vesrions of the aircraft had conventional instruments whilst later versions were fitted with glass cockpit avionics.
DA40 D
The initial diesel model powered by the Centurian 1.7 or Centurian 2.0 and driving a fixed pitch propeller. This aircraft was marketed in Canada and australia as the TDI.
DA40 F
The fixed pitch propeller and also marketed as the DA40 FP, this model is no longer offered.
DA40 NG
This is the latest model and has the Garmin G1000 glass cockpit avionics and the Austro Engine AE 300 diesel engine and constant speed propeller.
DA40 XLT
This aircraft has an upgraded interior, a constant speed propeller and Garmin G1000 glass cockpit.
DA40 Tundra Star
This aircraft has a strengthened landing gear and larger tyres for operating on unimproved surfaces, it is powered by the Austro AE300 diesel engine.

Details

The cockpit diagrams are drawn using visits to aircraft as well as from Diamond and Garmin documentation.

The images are vector graphics which means that they can be scaled up to real life size without loss of resolution. The prints can be produced to full life size whilst maintaing full resolution. The digital downloads are in Adobe pdf format and are also vector format. The downloads can also be printed up to full life size.

The training posters are printed on high resolution tear resistant vinyl so that they can be adhered to substrates. Alternatively they can be printed on medium weight paper, folded down to A3 size for transport. Other types of printing media is also available on request - please contact us for details.
